When you need to take a break from the accessible beaches of the north for your weekend getaways, you can always go to the likes of Batangas and Puerto Galera near Metro Manila. And when you continue driving further to the south, you’ll eventually arrive at the underrated beaches of Sorsogon, where you’ll find the likes of a pink beach called Subic Beach. Another option is to take a bus, especially with ALPS starting new routes from Bonifacio Global City to various beach destinations starting September 3.
Check out this new bus route from Market! Market! in Bonifacio Global City to Puerto Galera, Sorsogon, and more:
In a Facebook post by ALPS The Bus, Inc., the bus company announced that they will offer nine new provincial routes coming from the Market! Market! bus terminal, starting September 3, Sunday. Here are the new routes and their operating schedule:
- Batangas City: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Lipa City: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m
- San Juan-Ibaan-Rosario: 5 a.m. to 8 p.m
- Oriental Mindoro: 7 a.m., 11 a.m., and 7 p.m.

If you’re set on going to Puerto Galera, a ticket to the Batangas City where they drop you off at the pier costs P268 per head, and from there, it should be easy to take a boat ride to get to Puerto Galera. But if you’re thinking of going to Sorsogon and seeing the jaw-dropping beauty of Subic Beach, a ticket costs P1,300 per head.
As for the other routes, the San Juan-Ibaan-Rosario has a starting price of P300 per head, Oriental Mindoro is at P1,300 per head, Panay Island is at P2,700 per head, Tabaco-Legazpi-Naga is at P1,100 per head, and Naga-Pili-Iriga route starts at P900 per head.
Note that these new routes are one-way tickets and that ALPS The Bus, Inc. has no return trips going back to Market! Market! So do plan ahead for your return trip… that is… if you want to go back to the chaos of Metro Manila. We won’t force you to move out of the city, but we’re just laying out options for your consideration.
