LTFRB: Subsidy only for buying oil products

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Teofilo Guadiz 3rd has clarified that the fuel subsidy cannot be used for other purposes and is specifically intended as payment to select gasoline stations for purchasing petroleum products.

In a post on the LTFRB official Facebook page, Guadiz said all public vehicles, except trucks-for-hire, are eligible to receive the fuel subsidy.

“The fuel subsidy is not selective. We provide the fuel subsidy to all members of the transport groups. It will be available for everybody, including tricycles,” he added.

“Whether consolidated or not, whether traditional or modernized units, every operator has a chance to receive government assistance,” Guadiz said.

The amount of subsidy allocated to public vehicle operators varies depending on the consumption needs of their public vehicles.

Details regarding the implementation of the fuel subsidy program can be found on the official social media accounts of LTFRB.

The board is yet to release an updated number of fuel subsidy recipients who have already claimed the government-initiated help amid continuous fuel price hikes.

It has provided a step-by-step process for claiming the fuel subsidy.

The agency also released the official gasoline stations where drivers and operators can use the fuel subsidy card (FSC) to claim fuel on Thursday.

LTFRB reminded the public to inquire at their LTFRB Regional Franchising and Regulatory Office from which branch of Landbank of the Philippines they can obtain the FSC form in order to get their card.

Beneficiaries can visit the mentioned LandBank branch and bring the following documents: one valid government-issued ID of the franchise holder; an original copy of the LTO official receipt and certificate of registration (OR/CR) if the vehicle is under bank ownership; an original copy of the certificate of public convenience (CPC) or other proof of franchise ownership; and a signed deed of undertaking that can be downloaded from the links that can be seen on LTFRB’s official Facebook page.

Then, they should complete the form with their personal details and submit it to the relevant email address of their LTFRB regional office.

The claimants will then have to wait for confirmation from LandBank via email before heading to their designated branch for the retrieval of the FSC.
